Have a selected amount of vocabulary words to choose from e.g. mouse, house, train, plane, car, bike. Then ask a question that involves one of these words e.g. How many bikes do you own? If the student responds to the question with only one word, encourage that student to say it in a sentence. Observe to see if the student properly responded to the question using a sentence. If the student did not properly say it in a sentence, show the student where they made a mistake, and ask them to do it again. You can use manipulatives that represent the vocabulary words to help those that are still learning the English language be able to identify the word and understand its meaning.
